Safe Tree Removal in Tuscaloosa County
When a Tree Has to Go, We Get It Done Right
Not every tree can be saved, and waiting too long on a hazardous one puts your property and family at risk. RF Tree Services LLC specializes in safe tree removal across Tuscaloosa, Northport, Cottondale, Hillcrest, Vance, Coker, and the surrounding areas. Whether you are dealing with a leaning water oak, a storm-damaged pine, or a large hardwood that has simply outgrown its space, our crew handles the takedown with precision and care. Every job includes complete debris hauling so your yard is clean when we leave, not just when we arrive.
36 Years of Field Experience
The Knowledge That Comes From Doing the Work
Robert Finnen has spent more than three decades learning Alabama's trees from the ground up. Before founding RF Tree Services LLC, he spent 10 years as a beautification expert at the University of Alabama, managing large-scale canopy maintenance across the campus. That institutional-level experience with Alabama species, including water oaks, pines, and hardwoods, is what he brings to every residential and commercial removal job today. When Robert gives you an estimate, he stands behind it personally. There is no call center, no crew you have never met. One owner, direct accountability, every time.
Large Tree Removal and Hazardous Situations
We Handle the Jobs That Require Real Expertise
Large tree removal near structures, power lines, or tight spaces requires more than a chainsaw. RF Tree Services LLC is licensed and insured, and our crew uses loader services and the right equipment to handle high-volume, high-risk takedowns safely. We also offer hazardous tree assessments for homeowners who are unsure whether a leaning or damaged tree poses an immediate threat. If a tree is hanging over your roof, car, or driveway, do not wait for the next storm to make the decision for you. We serve residential and commercial clients throughout Northport and Tuscaloosa County with the same professional standard on every job.
Tree Stump Removal and Site Cleanup
Reclaim Your Yard After the Tree Is Gone
Once a tree comes down, the stump does not have to stay. RF Tree Services LLC offers stump grinding to restore your yard space and give you back a clean, usable property. Stump grinding is available as part of a full removal package or as a standalone service. We also provide loader services for high-volume debris removal when a job leaves behind more than a standard cleanup can handle. From the first cut to the final sweep of the driveway, we hold to one standard: leave the property cleaner than we found it.
Tree Removal Questions, Answered
What Northport and Tuscaloosa Homeowners Ask Us Most
Can you give me a tree removal quote based on a photo I send you?
No. Robert Finnen conducts all estimates in person, on-site. A photo does not provide enough information to assess the full scope of a removal job, including lean direction, root condition, proximity to structures, and the equipment needed. An on-site visit ensures the estimate is accurate and that no surprises come up once the work begins.Do you handle large tree removal near houses or power lines?
Yes. RF Tree Services LLC is licensed and insured and regularly handles large tree removal in tight or high-risk situations, including trees near rooftops, fences, and service lines. Robert has over 36 years of experience working with Alabama's large hardwoods and pines, including a decade managing the University of Alabama campus canopy. Loader services are available when the job calls for heavy equipment. Is stump grinding included with tree removal, or is it a separate service?
Stump grinding is available as part of a removal package or as a standalone service. It is not automatically included in every removal job, so it is worth discussing with Robert at the time of your estimate. Stump grinding is subcontracted approximately 10% of the time, but the service is fully available to RF Tree Services customers throughout the Northport and Tuscaloosa area. How do I know if a leaning tree on my property is actually dangerous?
A leaning tree is not always an emergency, but certain signs make it a serious concern: visible root lifting, cracks at the base, dead limbs concentrated on one side, or a lean that has increased noticeably over time. RF Tree Services LLC offers hazardous tree assessments so Robert can evaluate the tree in person and give you a straight answer about the risk level and what, if anything, needs to be done.Do you clean up all the debris after a tree removal job?
Yes. Debris hauling is included with every tree removal job. The crew does not leave limbs, brush, or wood piles behind. RF Tree Services LLC holds to a clear standard: leave the property cleaner than it was found. That includes sweeping the driveway and removing all material generated by the job before the crew leaves your property. What areas do you serve for tree removal?
RF Tree Services LLC serves Northport, Tuscaloosa, Cottondale, Hillcrest, Vance, Coker, Brookwood, Holt, and surrounding communities within Tuscaloosa County. The company operates within a one-hour radius of Northport to keep response times reasonable and project costs efficient. Areas beyond that range, including Centerville and Bibb County, are outside the service area. Are you licensed and insured for tree removal work?
Yes. RF Tree Services LLC is fully licensed and insured. This matters because an uninsured crew working on your property can leave you personally liable if an accident occurs. Robert Finnen has maintained proper coverage throughout the company's 36-year history, and insurance status is something he is transparent about from the first conversation.Do you offer emergency tree removal after a storm?
Yes. RF Tree Services LLC provides 24/7 emergency storm cleanup for fallen trees, blocked driveways, and roof damage. Storm events in Alabama can move fast, and the company is set up to respond same-day when a tree comes down on your property and needs to be cleared immediately.
